Planning a Super Hero Nursery and Link Up

Planning the nursery this time around has been different than before. With both Henry and Wesley, we didn't know if they were boy or girl until delivery, so I tried to plan their nurseries as gender neutral thinking I'd possibly add pops of color once they were born to specify gender (mostly add some pink if they were girls). This time around, we know this little guy is all boy, so I thought I'd go all out and make it a totally boy nursery.  While perusing Pinterest, I came upon the idea of a super hero nursery, and just loved it!  So, here's what I'm planning!

1) It all really stemmed off of this guy.  The day of our ultrasound, I snagged him via Little Bit Funky Sews's Instagram sale.  These babies go QUICK every time she puts them up for sale, but I just happened to luck out this day.  I actually won it right before we left for the appointment.  I figured I would give it to Henry or Wesley, but after finding out this baby was a boy, I knew it was meant for him.

2) I found these super hero prints on Amazon for less than $10 each. I think they'll transition well to a big boy room, too, since we're doing boy around our house for a LONG time! Russ insisted we include a female hero, so Wonder Woman it was! I realize I could have DIYed something, but time, energy, and moving are issues lately, so I pushed the Amazon Easy Button.

3. I ordered this fabric from Joann (it was on sale at the time) along with some red minky dot.  My mom is going to sew the fabric into a crib sheet and make a blanket to match with the minky dot as backing. I also have a Spider-Man crib sheet that Henry currently uses as his daycare nap cot cover. I'll probably use that in the room, too, once Henry's done with preschool for the year.

So, all in all, I've spent about $100 on the nursery - just a few touches.  I feel like that's an ok amount to spend given the items are not really "baby focused" and can easily transition into big boy rooms. There are also some hints of turquoise in the items, which will do very well with the dresser I already use in the nursery!
