It's the last Monday of the month, which means I'm linking up with Andrea about my Favorite Things!  Each month, there's a new topic (all the topics can be found here).  This month, it's favorite summer shoes!

One thing I'm learning as I get older, is that having good shoes makes a ton of difference.  Sure, I'll buy some cute shoes from Payless or Target every once in a while, but more and more I'm making investments in pairs of shoes I will wear for years and that are good on my feet.

One pair of sandals I'm thrilled I invested in were my Birkenstocks. I own a pair of the brown Arizonas (pictured in the top row below). I have truly had them for 10 years. I am pretty sure that is the only item in my closet I can say that about. I'm trying to decide what my next pair will be. The mustard ones are calling my name! There are quite a few styles of Birkenstock sandals, so I'm sure you can find one that fits you.

Another pair of sandals that aren't quite on the level of Birkenstock, but have lasted a while as well, are Sanuk's Yoga Mat Flip Flops. I have a pair in black and brown, and as far as flip flops go, these are truly comfortable. You won't find me wearing any cheap flip flops ever again. Just go try on a pair. It's like you're walking on a yoga mat (hence the name). After 4 summers, my black pair, which I wear most frequently, are showing wear on the sole, but still have a good summer or two left in them before they need replaced.
Last is a good pair of tennis shoes! My hubby has become quite the sneakerhead lately, so when I was in the market for a new pair for this summer, he had me try on the Nike Flyknit Free 4.0. I really want to buy about 5 pairs of them! They are truly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. They are so light weight and have a roomy toe box. Another great thing is that you can throw them in the wash! I have a white/volt colored pair, and they're getting a little dirty, but I plan to wash them up soon. Again, these shoes aren't cheap, but if you keep an eye out you can find them on sale. I was able to get a pair for half off at the Nike Factory Store.
So, there ya go! Three shoes I'm loving this summer! What about you?

still being molly
